"We are not a part
of this world, this is not our home, this is not our home”…J. Barranco
Of all I know about
life, the one thing I DO know is that THIS life is not worth living
for. It is great to be alive, don’t get me wrong but only when I
realized the awesomeness of the one true GOD and that life is only
found and found in abundance in His Son, Jesus Christ. I am and have
always been a singer and a songwriter. I know nothing else but my
music and yet I’m not technically trained. The Lord has allowed me to
make a living at something I’m not “trained” in at all.
I’m a high
school graduate that failed miserably at college for one semester
and then moved to New York City where, contrary to my education, I
enjoyed worldly success at it’s highest. I indulged in everything and
am lucky to be alive but for His abounding Grace, for He always knew
that in time I would be wooed to Him in such a way that I would never
go back, NEVER! I AM A CHRISTIAN! In the words of Johnny Cash, because
I can’t put it any better. “ I- as a believer that Jesus of Nazareth,
a Jew, the Christ of the Greeks, was the anointed one of God (born of
the seed of David, upon faith as Abraham had faith, and it was
accounted to him for righteousness)- am grafted onto the true vine,
and am one of the heirs of God’s covenant with Israel.” I have lost
many friends because I’m a Christian, mainly because I needed to. I am
a childlike man who is naive enough to trust the Lord with every
detail of my life. He is my provider, my refuge my strength, my peace
and my comfort. Jesus is my all in all and nothing compares to the
priceless possession of knowing Him. I choose to live from now until
eternity honoring Him in all I do. I use my music as a vehicle to
praise and preach.
My partner in
praise, Mitchell Malouf, is a spirit filled born again believer as
well and together we write from the abundance of His love that flows
from our hearts There’s a line in a chorus in one of our songs that
says, “Lord show me where to empty my cup, so you can fill it up
again”
Be Blessed,
Johnny Barranco
